New analysis is suggesting Chinese tourists are going to help bolster the world economy through a continued increase in outbound tourism.

Numbers released at the World Conference on Tourism Development in Beijing suggested the number of outbound tourists from China would surpass 130 million this year, up 10-percent from last year.

Li Shihong, deputy director of China National Tourism Administration, said Chinese travellers were already helping solidify the world economy.

"Statistics by the China Travel and Tourism Club (CTTC) shows that the tourism sector now accounts for about 10 percent of global GDP and nearly 10 percent of the world's total employment. These two percentages show what the tourism industry has achieved in the development of the world economy. As is known by most in this sector, tourism has been playing a greater role in global development."

At the same time, China National Tourism Administration director Li Jinzao said Chinese authorities were planning to put a priority on promoting outbound Chinese travel.

"In the next five years, outbound trips from China will hit 600 million. We would like to strengthen cooperation with all nations to expand the scale of the international tourism market. With a goal of providing security, convenience and amenity, we are going to continue to relax our visa process, simplify procedures for entering China, shorten travel times and reduce travel costs for foreign visitors."
