Chile was chosen as one of the best honeymoon destinations for 2015.
Chile and its wine routes were chosen as the best destinations in the world to honeymoon this 2015, according to a ranking made by Fodor´s online travel guide. The travel portal, whose headquarters are in New York city, mentioned the variety of options to visit this wine producing country, starting off with the wineries located close to the capital, continuing into the interior and the different southern valleys.
Fodor´s affirms that, no matter what region you decide to explore, those who travel through Chile for their honeymoon, all views are full of natural beauty, with high-end estancias and activities such as horseback riding. The site has 4.1 million unique users a month and 13.2 million website visits a month.
Fodor´s Travel makes a special mention to the Maipo Valley, considering it as one of the places where some of the most prestigious Chilean wineries are from, such as Concha y Toro and Santa Rita, both very easy to access from the city.
Attention is also drawn to the fact that the Maipo Valley is the wine region with the largest amount of wineries open to tourism, with a total of 23. The Colchagua and Casablanca valleys follow, with 14 and 12 open to tourism, respectively. Colchagua had already been chosen by the Lonely Planet last year as one of the 10 best destinations in the world for honeymooners, and Casablanca together with the city of Valparaiso as a part of the Great Wine Capitals network.
