CNTA Chairman Li Jinzao met a delegation led by Hungarian Ambassador to China Andrea Cecilia Szilas to exchange the ideas about developing the tourism of China and Hungary.
On December 11, 2014, CNTA Chairman Li Jinzao met a delegation led by Hungarian Ambassador to China Andrea Cecilia Szilas in Beijing.
As Mr. Li noted, CNTA attaches high importance to its cooperation in tourism with
Hungary and other central and east European countries. In recent year, China and Hungary have managed to enhance their partnership in various fields and meanwhile move their cooperation in tourism into a new phase. At present, Hungary has developed into one of the most popular central and east European travel destinations among the Chinese tourists.
To help the Chinese tourists better know its travel products and spend longer time there, the Hungarian side is expected to intensify their publicity efforts in China. The China-Central and East Europe Association of Tourism Promotion Agencies and Enterprises (the Association) was inaugurated in Budapest, Hungary this year. Hungary, as the coordination center of the Association, assumes the task of facilitating the cooperation in tourism between a total of 16 central and east European countries and China. To conduct this mission, the Hungarian side has made many vigorous and fruitful attempts and achieved remarkable results in promoting collaboration in tourism. It is hoped that China and these central and east European countries can work hard and together to continuously enhance their cooperation in tourism and thus expand the public support for their partnership.
As Ms. Andrea Cecilia Szilas noted, “Hungary is grateful for the assistance CNTA has long provided. Tourism constitutes one important part of the partnership between Hungary and China. Hungary attaches high importance to China’s tourist market. During my term in office, I will be committed to promoting Hungary and China’s cooperation in tourism as well as acting as a bridge between China and other central and east European countries so as to attract more Chinese tourists to visit Hungary and these abovementioned countries.
Besides, the two sides also exchanged views about such issues as the World Tourism Organization (WTO)’s listing Chinese as one of its official languages and the Hungarian delegation’s participation in China International Travel Mart in 2015.
Also present in the meeting were the head of CNTA’s Department of Tourism Promotion and International Liaison.
