The “Myths Busting Roadshow” of
Zimbabwe was successfully held in Shanghai on November 12 and in Guangzhou on November 17 respectively. The Deputy Director of Zimbabwe Ministry of Tourism & Hospitality Industry, the Chief Executive and other officers of Zimbabwe Tourism Authority attended the roadshow, leading the delegation of some excellent Zimbabwe incoming service providers, in order to vigorously develop the Chinese tourism market.

The Chief Executive of Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, Mr. Karikoga Kaseke, shared the natural beauty, the various wildlife and the unique culture of Zimbabwe with the present Chinese tourism professionals. He said: “Victoria Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, and over the years it has been favored by the tourists from all over the world. Last year, over 10,000 Chinese tourists visited the great falls. ”

The recent tourism situation in Africa is not very optimistic because of the outbreak of Ebola, however, Mr. Kaseke is full of confidence in the tourism of Zimbabwe: “Zimbabwe is located in the southeast of Africa. So far, we haven’t found any confirmed case of Ebola in the country, nor any suspected case. At present, there are still lots of Chinese investors investing in Zimbabwe, so please be assured that it is very safe to visit Zimbabwe. I do believe that Zimbabwe will become one of the most favorite destinations for Chinese tourists in the future.”

In order to attract more Chinese visitors, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority will enhance its promotion in China. Apart from the tourism promotion roadshows in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, it will attend various tourism exhibitions held in China, such as the CITM, taking advantage of different kinds of effective platforms to promote the tourism resources of Zimbabwe in China.

At present, it is very convenient to travel from China to Zimbabwe with combined airlines of South African Airways, Kenya Airways and Ethiopian Airlines, transferring via Johannesburg, Nairobi and Addis Ababa. Chinese groups who travel to Zimbabwe only need to get the ADS visa, and the visa procedure is very simple and convenient. In addition, Zimbabwe began to offer E-visa service lately, which provides great convenience for Chinese tourists.
