Qiwei noted the Peru guide targets to fill the lack of information the Chinese population have on the huge importance of the largest tourist destinations in the Andean nation, despite of being a strong and rich millennium-old culture.
In turn, the senior Ollanta Humala administration authority pointed out that of 3,300.000 foreign tourists who flocked to Peru yearly, a few number ranging from 12,000 to 14,000 came from China.
“This online advocacy is part of the government’s efforts to take a bigger number of the 60 million Chinese who use to make overseas trips annually,” Silva said in her remarks to the gathering which was made up of counterparts from this country and leading investors.
Furthermore, in pursuing this aim, the government through its export and tourism promotion board –Promperu- is also near completion of a special film designed to draw Chinese tourists to Peru.
Likewise, the Ollanta Humala administration is trying to address the shortage of Peruvian tour guides who speak Chinese. To this end, it is providing 50 percent scholarships for guides to study languages for which speakers are in short supply.
