Shao Qiwei Meets with State Secretary of Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office Péter Szijjártó

Shao Qiwei, Chairman of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), met with Péter Szijjártó, State Secretary of Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office, in Hungary’s capital city Budapest on May 22.

Tourism cooperation is an important component of China-CEEC Cooperation. China congratulates the establishment of Coordination Center for the China-Central and East Europe Association of Tourism Promotion Agencies and Enterprises and is willing to work with the 16 Central and Eastern European countries to make continuous and positive contributions to closer tourist exchanges between the two sides, said Shao. He suggested both sides strengthen cooperation in expanding the tourism industry chain, pushing for payment with UnionPay, and opening direct flights at an early date, in a bid to boost two-way people-to-people exchange.

Péter Szijjártó expressed his gratitude to China for supporting Hungary to host the Coordination Center for the China-Central and East Europe Association of Tourism Promotion Agencies and Enterprises. The country will give full support to the Coordination Center in staffing and funding and ensure its smooth operation, he said, adding that Hungary will create more convenient conditions for Chinese tourists to travel there, in a bid to enhance China-Hungary tourism cooperation.
