China Will Become the Largest Source Market for Outbound Tourism Market
In 2011 the Chinese travellers made as many as 70 million of international trips, up 22% comparing to the 2010. This is a significant growth that no country is able to overcome. China is considered to be the largest source market for ountbound tourism.
Not only China attracts large hotel companies that try to expand their networks in this fast developing country, but Chinese travellers also start playing a significant role in the global tourism industry.

Currently Germany and theUnited States are considered the largest source markets for outbound tourism, but this situation is likely to change as the experts from Hotels.com predict. In 2011 the number of travellers from China who made international trips was up 22% comparing to the 2010. This is a significant growth that no country is able to overcome.

In order to prepare its Chinese International Travel Monitor Hotels.com surveyed more than 5,000 partners from different parts of the world. Approximately 22% of respondents say the increase of visitors from China estimates tremendous 40%.

These digits leave little wondering why so many hoteliers plan to offer new services especially for guests from China. For example, 41% of hotels participating in the study say they are going to offer Chinese TV in their guestrooms, while 66% of European hotels that participated in the study consider including Chinese breakfasts to their menus.

In 2011 the Chinese travellers made as many as 70 million of international trips. Even though the majority of them were still to such common destinations as Macau or Hong Kong, there is a significant growth of people who travel further.

According to Johan Svanstrom, the managing director of Hotels.com Asia Pacific, nowadays hotels must think about Chinese travellers if they want to be successful in the modern challenging environment. There are two main strategies to do this – to increase recognition and start marketing campaigns in Chinese market, and to offer services that fit the requirements of the growing audience.
