This permanent display explores the Nelson story through the narrative of the Battle of Trafalgar, his death, funeral and commemoration in the capital. The highlight of the display is Nelson’s Trafalgar uniform.

The space also includes a new Nelson interactive feature with a life-size digital reproduction of Nelson’s Trafalgar coat through which visitors can learn more about Nelson’s life and death and related objects, paintings and manuscripts. The interactive screen is housed within a replica of the uniform’s original 1845 display cabinet.
