Experience Jamaica – the “hottest” destination for Chinese visitors at COTTM09

After the successful participation COTTM 2008 with the high level delegation led by Jamaican Minister of Tourism of Hon. Mr. Bartlett, Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) attended the COTTM 2009 with the support of China Business Network promoting trade partners and suppliers such as Air Jamaica, Half Moon, Glamour Destination Management Company with famous Blue Mountain Coffee and Appleton Rum as well as Raggae Sumfest, Caribic Vacations Limited, Jamaica Tours Ltd. , etc..

During the COTTM 2009 Jamaica tourist Board  won the Chinese Tourist Welcoming (CTW) Golden Award again this time for service quality, which recognized their effort in providing high quality services to Chinese visitors.

   

Ambassador Courtenay Rattray and Mr. David Shields were receiving the CTW Award.

Mr. David Shields was invited to give a presentation after the receipt of the CTW Award.

The Jamaica fever reached higher point on the last day of COTTM with a special destination presentation in the well decorated seminar theater.  Mr. Shields, the Deputy Director of JTB introduced the Jamaica tourism resources and facilities. With this great opportunity, visitors can not only get the specific information about Jamaica tourism, but also taste the original Rum.

   

Mr. David Shields, with the assistance of the Marketing Director of World Travel Online Ms. Linda Ruan, gave a lively presentation.

The Jamaica Presentation attracted lots of travel professionals from Chinese outbound travel agencies and also nationwide travel media.

The dedicated marketing efforts paid off as despite the worldwide economic recession it is reported that Jamaica’s tourism industry continues to prove resilient to the downturn, posting a 2% increase in visitor arrivals in February. More and more Chinese tour operators and Chinese tourists are keen on visiting Jamaica. Many tour operators are working together to send many Chinese music fans to the Raggea Sumfest taking place in Montego Bay in July.  How can you know more about the magic of Jamaica?
