Building on the fantastic success of Jamaican athletes particularly Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser and with support from China Business Network and World Travel Online, the Minister of Tourism of Jamaica Hon. Edmund Bartlett met up with top outbound tour operators in Beijing together with Miss World 2007 Zilin Zhang to showcase that Jamaica has even more on offer to visitors. The invited tour operators were given incentive of watching Usain Bolt competing and wining his subsequent gold metals in 200 meters and 4X100 relay on 20th and 22nd August.

Before each of the races Minister Bartlett and Deputy Director of Jamaica Tourist Board Zachary Harding answered questions asked by Chinese tour operators during the pre match reception. Chinese outbound tour operators were very impressed by the straight forward visa procedure and much practical supports provided by Jamaican Embassy in Beijing and also the increased accessibility by air travel especially by Air Jamaica from Northern European destination to Jamaica and other Caribbean destinations.

After the Jamaican reception all the guests together with Minister Bartlett enjoyed the fabulous performance of Usain Bolt. His chest-thumping way of celebration thrilled the world. Bolt turned 22 the day before his 200 win so 91,000 spectators in the Birt Nest song "Happy Birthday" as he stood on the podium to receive his second Gold metal.

Jamaica, a fantastic place for centuries, has welcomed settlers from all around the world. The island has played host to the Amerindians who discovered it, to Europeans who fought to own it.
Now, this amazing place has been granted the name of “the home country of the world fastest man and world records maker”. In answering the question how Jamaica produced such fine athletes Minister Bartlett humoursly said “Once You Go…You Know”.
