Hong Kong Signs Aviation Travel Cooperation With India

Hong Kong has signed a new bilateral aviation service agreement with India, which allows the two parties' airlines to respectively operate 27 flights between their routes.

The India Civil Aviation Department said that Indian airline companies can operate these 27 flights from any departure location in India to Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Hong Kong airlines' 27 flights include 10 to Delhi, six to Bombay and 11 to Bangalore, Chennai and Calcutta. Among them, Chennai has become a new destination for airline companies in Hong Kong.

The agreement said that out of these 27 flights, Indian airlines can take no more than 14 flights connecting to the west coast of North America. As a reciprocal treatment, Hong Kong's airlines can equally use 14 flights via India flying to European areas, except Britain.

Both parties also signed a code-share agreement for their cooperation, which additionally allows them to jointly operate flights to the other destinations besides India and Hong Kong with third-party airlines.
