Visitor arrivals for Malaysia increase 18.2% for July 2007

The latest July 2007 figures for tourist arrivals from the Immigration Department of Malaysia have shown an increase of 18.2% since the same time last year.

During July 2007, Malaysia received 1,713,951 tourists compared with the same time the previous year which was at 1,450,319.

Malaysia’s visitor arrivals from January – July 2007 had also increased 23.9% at 12,404,377 from the previous period in 2006 where arrivals were at 10,014,450.

The countries most tourists were from included Singapore with 873,685 visitors, Indonesia with 171,550 and Thailand with 108, 408 tourist arrivals.

The market which had grown the most since 2006 was Poland, increasing 413.4%, as well as China, 80.8%, and the Philippines, 60.9%.
