On September 12th, 2007, Indonesian Reception for celebrating 62 years’ Independence was held in Beijing Kempinski Hotel. Ambassador Sudrajat and Ms. Rosmalawati Chalid, Culture Counsellor from Indonesian Embassy in China attended the Reception. Ambassadors from other ASEAN countries, officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all social circles have been invited.

On September 8th, 2007, Chinese President Hu Jintao met in Sydney with his Indonesian counterpart Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Chinese president Hu Jintao had suggested that the strategic partnership be developed by focusing on seven aspects, including more exchange of high-level visits, improving cooperation on economy, security and disaster relief, promoting China-ASEAN relations and the cooperation in East Asia, and improving cooperation among developing nations. During the meeting, the two leaders also made an agreement on bilateral further cooperation in the fields of culture, education and tourism.
