From Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, Orient Thai Airlines will launch scheduled flights from Bangkok to Chengdu at the end of September.
Then there will then be 17 flights between Bangkok and Chengdu every week. Besides Air China and Thai Airways, Orient Thai Airlines is the third company to runs the flights between these two cities.
Based in Bangkok, Orient Thai Airlines started its operation in 2000 with two Boeing 747 aircraft for several years before upgrading the fleet to Lockheed L1011 Tristar aircraft. Recently, two Boeing 747 Jumbo aircraft were added to the fleet to improve both operational capacity and range. The airline currently operates focuses on routes between Korea and Hong Kong.
